Air Driven Pumps & Boosters
Haskel - Series AW Air Driven Liquid
Pumps
 |
For Pumping Hydraulic Oil and Corrosive
Liquids at High Pressures Using Shop Air Pressure for
Power
Air Driven Liquid Pumps offer
many advantages:
- They can stall and hold virtually any pressure with no
flow or internal leakage.
- Operate safely in hazardous atmospheres and wet
environments.
- Pump non-lubricating fluids such as water or solvents to
very high pressures.
- Operate from small tanks in fluid power units for maximum
portability.
- Start under full load.

Constructed of nickel
plated steel and stainless steel, with polyurethane and buna-N
seals. Operates from air supply of 25 to 150 PSI or from nitrogen,
carbon dioxide, or natural gas. The approximate size is 8" square
and 12 1/2" high. Weight is 24 lbs. Single head models produce
about 1 1/4 HP of pumping power. Use a cut-off valve, a filter and
pressure regulator of at least 1/2" NPT size in the inlet air
supply. Do not use a lubricator. The pumps are permanently
lubricated with Molykote and air line lubrication may wash out the
lubricant. Use an air muffler on the air exhaust port. Install a
100-mesh filter in the hydraulic inlet. Pump should be mounted no
more than about 2 feet above the surface of the liquid being
pumped. Inlet and outlet air ports are 1/2" NPT. Bottom inlet port
on AW-B10 and AWB15 is 1" NPT. Side inlet port on all other models
is 1/2 NPT. Control maximum outlet hydraulic pressure by adjusting
the regulator in the inlet air line.

Haskel - Series M Air Driven Liquid
Pumps
 |
Low Cost • Miniaturized • Pressures
up to 15,000 PSI
A smaller version of the Series AW, handling the same
liquids and delivering 1/3 HP out and working from an air line of
25 to 125 PSI. An economical means of using shop air or vehicle
compressor air to produce hydraulic pressures up to 15,000 PSI.
They provide an inexpensive way of replacing hand pumps.
Standard Series M pumps are constructed of cad plated steel,
aluminum, and stainless steel with polyurethane seals. For pumping
hydraulic oil, kerosene diesel fuel or water with 5% soluble oil.
Other models are shown below for pumping mildly corrosive
liquids.
Inlet and outlet air ports are 1/4" NPT. Inlet oil port is 3/8"
NPT and outlet is 1/4" NPT. Approximate size is 6" long × 3 1/4"
square. Weight 6 lbs.

Haskel - Air Driven Pressure
Amplifiers
Automatically Reciprocating Pumps to
Amplify Plant Air Supply
These pumps, with plant
air supply will amplify air pressure. They can also be powered with
any inert gas available. Maximum 160 PSI air drive pressure.
To operate these pumps, connect filtered plant air pressure to the
drive port and connect the same pressure as the supercharge
pressure to the air inlet. Pumps require no lubrication and
lubrication of the air supply is undesirable. Pumping pressure and
flow can be controlled with a pressure regulator in the drive air
port. Dual pump multi-stage models are available to deliver higher
flows at pressures up to 3000 PSI.

Haskel - Series AG Gas
Boosters
 |
Haskel AG Series Gas Boosters are a self-contained
automatically reciprocating positive displacement drive/pump
assembly. The drive is a large piston/valve assembly and is
directly connected to dry running, hydrocarbon free single or dual
pumping pistons with self lubricating PTFE seals running in
stainless steel barrels with integral check valves. The area of the
drive exceeds the area of the pump by various ratios (depending on
the model) thereby providing the pressure "boost" using relatively
low pressure air or gas to the drive. Exhaust mufflers are standard
on all models. If the gas is valuable, the drive exhaust can be
recovered against back pressures up to 100 PSIG (with minor
modifications).
|
Typical Application
A typical application for the Haskel Gas Booster is to utilize all
of the gas out of a pressurized cylinder. Purchased gas is received
in pressurized cylinder; or directly off a pipeline; or held
liquefied at lower pressures for delivery from a vaporizer. The
typical requirement is to utilize the gas purchased in a cylinder
to as low a pressure as economically practical while boosting to
the required process or test pressure.
