Job Title - Automation Support Sales

Job Description - Womack Companies is an Industrial Distributor of Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Automation Equipment with corporate office located in Farmers Branch, Texas. Womack represents some of the world's leading manufacturers of fluid power and industrial control products, and maintains one of the largest inventories in the South and West in conveniently located Regional Service Centers. Womack Companies supply individual components and complete systems to Customers in every industry from Energy, Agriculture, and Construction, to Defense. The incumbent is responsible for generating sales revenue by assisting Customers and Outside Sales in product specification and solution design, completing outbound sales calls, prospecting for new customers, preparing customer quotes/proposals, and following up with those customers to complete the sale. The Inside Technical Sales person will train customers and internal sales/sales support staff, and will utilize available sales and engineering tools to achieve success.  The above efforts are to be focused and prioritized based on strategic growth initiatives as established by management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Specify products for customer requirements utilizing fluid power principals, calculations, product, and application knowledge
  • Assist Customers and Outside Sales with product selection and solution design
  • Sell products to customers by making outbound sales calls and facilitating inbound orders
  • Prospect for new Customers; follow up on sales leads
  • Train sales staff, i.e. Customer Service or Outside Sales Representatives, and provide product training as needed for Customers
  • Prepare sales quotes and proposals
  • Follow up on quotes
  • Provide Customer Service support and repair/return support as needed
  • Track and report efforts supporting management established growth initiatives
  • Track and report activities, opportunities, and wins contributing to sales revenue growth
  • Other duties may be required

EXPERTISE & APTITUDES:

  • Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve sales goals
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and persuade others
  • Intermediate ability to utilize business software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Disciplined and self-motivated
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize effectively

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:  If applying for position, you must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for an employer sponsored visa (work permit). 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required (Industrial Distribution or Engineering preferred)
  • Fluid Power Certified is preferred

   EXPERIENCE:

  • One to five years of related sales/engineering experience.

TRAVEL:  Some travel may be required (10%); work outside normal business hours required from time-to-time

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Typically the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some movement from area to area, transporting of items such as a laptop computer, printers, servers, paper, books, and small parts; driving an automobile, etc.  Position may require long periods of sitting while driving or riding as a passenger in a automobile.  Must be able to move through customer sites, including warehouses, shipyards, oil field rigs, manufacturing facilities, and related machinery, etc. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to various outdoor and indoor environments (i.e. general office, industrial complexes, food processing plants, semiconductor labs, clean rooms, steel mills, energy drilling locations, marine operations, etc., some of which can be hazardous). Temperature variances, high noise levels, and dusty environments may be encountered.
