MDA Muscle Walk
Every year, Womack employees participate in the MDA Muscle Walk to raise money and support children with muscle dystrophy. In 2023, we raised over $78,000 to fight against muscle disease and fully fund summer camp for the kids where they can make new friends, enjoy new experiences, and learn new skills. We’re grateful for this annual opportunity to put our Heart to Care into action!
Stupid Strong
Every year, Womack hosts a National Sales Meeting for our suppliers and employees. In addition to recapping the successes and highlights from the past year, we encourage attendees to donate to a charity beneficiary. In 2023, we partnered with Stupid Strong, a nonprofit organization devoted to raising awareness of gastric cancer, advancing funding for research and providing education and aid to families in need who are affected by the disease. Womack’s employees and suppliers raised over $54,000 for Stupid Strong.
Bob Mitchell goes to Honduras
The main purpose of the mission trip is to improve the environment and health conditions of people in some of the poorest villages. Getting and maintaining clean, hygienic water is the number one priority. Next is fixing up and improving homes by putting on new roofs or adding concrete floors (in place of dirt floors). Finally, the group will run a Christian Vacation Bible School each day for the kids (LOTS of kids!) which includes a free lunch, snacks, crafts, music and bible lessons.
Philanthropy Spotlight
A record-setting eight employees from Womack spent a week in June as counselors, assisting children with muscular dystrophy at Camp John Marc. The camp offers children with physical challenges an opportunity to canoe, swim, rock climb, ride horses, zip line, fish, and a whole host of other activities. For the counselors, it’s a week of strenuous physical activity and very little sleep. Womack is proud to sponsor Camp John Marc, and grateful to these young men who took time out of their lives to give back to these kids and their families. From left to right on the back row are: Brian Wright, Tracy Hamilton, Jonathan Kocks, Ayrton Maier, Hayden Pinell, Mitchell Gholson, Kelby Seyl and Jason Ball. (The three in the front row are campers.) A big “thank you” to these counselors for living the Womack Way!
Salvation Army – Angel Tree
For the last four years, Womack Machine Supply has adopted 100 Angels from the local Salvation Army (70 children and 30 elderly).
The list of available Angels for adoption goes quickly – employees or groups of employees eagerly adopt and shop for needed gifts as well as wanted items for their Angels. Once everything has been collected, several of our folks here at Womack volunteer to pack up and take the 100 stuffed red bags to the local Salvation Army distribution center. From there, the Salvation Army begins working their magic, getting all the gifts to the Angels by Christmas.

Living the Womack Way
Representatives from Womack (a company based out of Texas) visited our family at home this afternoon to present Max, Rowen, and Charlie with a check. One of these guys, Matt Sterup, graduated from St. Cecilia High School (the same school Jason graduated from and that Lexi now attends). After reading a post on FB about the boys he was inspired to use his company’s generous tradition of giving to support the boys. Matt and many others from Womack hosted a series of fundraisers at the company. Womack then matched the money raised dollar for dollar. We are so grateful for Womack’s support. It says a lot about the character of both Matt and Womack to go to such an extent to support three little guys and a family that were strangers not long ago.
MDA Camp Tulsa, OK
The 2014 MDA Summer Camp was held at Camp Egan in Tahlequah, OK. Lots of laughter was had and friendships and memories were made. Our campers were able to experience many kinds of activities. From horseback riding, to swimming, to power soccer, to floor hockey, to tie dying, to dancing and performing in a talent show. This year Womack sponsored lunch for the campers as well as Patsy’s Pony Rides and Petting Zoo! Talk about fun! The Womack employees enjoyed the time outside and with the animals just as much as the campers did!
Camp John Marc
On June 18th, 41 Womack employees, family, friends and donors once again loaded a charter bus with hot dogs and 150 lbs of barbecue and headed to the annual MDA Summer Camp at Camp John Marc in Meridian, Texas. Their mission? To serve a hearty dinner & cleanup for 230 campers, counselors, medical staff and other camp volunteers. This annual event is to celebrate reaching our fundraising goal of fully funding summer camp for 100 North Texas kids with neuromuscular disease. And as anyone who participates in the dinner event will tell you, it is hard work but the smiles on the faces of kids and counselors makes it all worthwhile!
MDA Summer Camp Houston, TX
On June 9th and 10th, Womack had the privilege of taking part in the annual MDA Camp for All in Burton, Texas. This year Womack provided canvas bags for each of the 250+ campers & counselors to carry their camping supplies. Each bag was decorated and customized by the Campers during Arts and Crafts. In addition, drawstrings bags with MDA Summer Camp drinking cups and headband flashlights were donated and helped to create a lot of smiles. We had the honor of eating lunch with the campers and talk with some great kids who shared how excited they get for camp every summer. We are enormously blessed to be part of this camp every year!
